During the CES 2026 convention, Samsung Electronics hosted its Visual Display Deep Dive session. Led by SW Yong, President of Samsung’s Visual Display Business, the session took place at The Wynn Las Vegas and highlighted Samsung’s strategy as the global TV market shifts toward premium experiences, larger screens, and more intelligent interaction.

Premium Displays in 2026

Samsung described 2026 as a pivotal year for its Visual Display business, with a strong focus on next-generation screen technologies. Micro RGB and OLED will anchor the premium TV segment, while mini LED is expected to bring high-end viewing experiences to a wider audience. Ultra-large displays will continue to play a key role in enhancing immersion, transforming living rooms into cinematic entertainment spaces.

AI Expands the TV Beyond Passive Viewing?

Samsung emphasised that television is evolving from a passive viewing device into an interactive, user-centered experience. According to SW Yong, the future of TV lies in deeper engagement, where displays respond intelligently to users rather than simply presenting content. Samsung’s strategy builds on its long-standing hardware expertise while integrating advanced AI capabilities to enhance everyday interactions.

Vision AI Companion

At the core of Samsung’s 2026 vision is Vision AI Companion, a new intelligent platform designed to make televisions more intuitive, conversational, and personalised. Integrated across nearly the entire Samsung TV lineup, Vision AI Companion understands what viewers are watching, anticipates their needs, and provides contextual information directly on the screen.

By embedding AI throughout its TV ecosystem, Samsung is extending the television’s role beyond entertainment into smart home integration and daily assistance. The platform reflects the company’s focus on adaptive experiences that remain grounded in exceptional picture quality and dependable performance.

Micro RGB and Lifestyle Innovation

Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of Samsung’s Visual Display Business, shared additional insights into the company’s latest hardware breakthroughs, including the Micro RGB 130-inch TV, described as an industry-first technical achievement. Samsung also reaffirmed its commitment to lifestyle-focused TV designs that prioritise how people interact with their screens in real-world environments.

As content quality continues to improve, Samsung believes demand for deeper immersion will grow naturally. The company is placing greater emphasis on the tangible experiences enabled by technologies like Vision AI Companion, rather than focusing solely on technical specifications.
