As digital banking improves, more local banks start using new ways to connect with customers. Maybank is among the earliest, with all transaction approvals and notifications sent only through the MAE app. Now CIMB is doing the same with its CIMB OCTO app.

According to an official CIMB announcement, CIMB customers will no longer receive SMS notifications for transactions starting 17 May 2025 (Saturday). Instead, notifications will be sent through the CIMB OCTO app. Note that this refers to Post Transaction Alerts (PTA), which are sent when a user completes a transaction.

In addition, CIMB customers will also receive notifications for transactions made via the CIMB Clicks website or through FPX. To receive these notifications, make sure notifications are allowed for the CIMB OCTO app. You can enable it by going to More > Settings > Manage Notifications.

CIMB OCTO officially replaced CIMB Clicks this year, but what do you think of the new app so far? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
