CIMB recently issued an important alert for debit cardholders: its myDebit network will briefly go offline this weekend for scheduled maintenance.  The affected time slots are: 16 and 17 August (Saturday and Sunday) at midnight until 8 AM and 5 AM, respectively.

Anything Else?

While most banking and digital services remain unaffected, during these hours, transactions via the MyDebit system—including in-store purchases, ATM-linked debit payments, and fuel pre-authorisation—will not be available.

CIMB customers should plan ahead if they intend to make late-night payments using CIMB’s debit services. Alternate methods still work: Transactions using networks like Visa, Mastercard, DuitNow, FPX, and e-wallets remain fully operational.

Recent Downtime History

In June and July, CIMB also underwent downtime and outages. In June 2025, there were multiple early-morning scheduled outages on the 7th, 11th, 12th and 21th of June. Then in July, the bank did another one on 26 July 2025 from midnight until 8 AM.

Tech-Smart Tips for Users

TL;DR: myDebit will be offline early on Saturday, 16 August (midnight–8 AM) and Sunday, 17 August (midnight–5 AM). Plan transactions accordingly and rely on backup payment methods if needed. You might want to set reminders on your calendar to avoid scheduling payments during the early hours.
