CNN Plus, a streaming service that was launched on 29 March 2022 will shut down operation in less than a month after its release due to poor reception. In fact, the service had less than 10,000 subscribers during its initial two weeks period which is way below its target.

CNN announced the decision on its website yesterday, making CNN Plus one of the worst and short lived streaming services in recent memory. Even the infamous Quibi lasted longer!

Owned and operated by Warner Bros Discovery, the CNN Plus streaming service will officially shut down on 30 April 2022. Essentially an extension of the 24-hours news network, hundreds of millions of US Dollars were spent launching CNN Plus.

The subscription cost for the service is only USD2.99 or ~RM12.90 monthly as an intro price, but that didn’t help with gaining subscribers. With numbers being low, Warner Bros Discovery decided to pull the plug on it.
