If you think cross-play between PC and console is great, that's not always the case! When it comes to competitive games, PC tends to have an advantage and it's not necessarily a fair one. Recently, Call of Duty: Warzone players on console have been disabling cross-play to shut PC gamers out of their games. Why? Let's talk about that below.
According to Eurogamer, cheaters are everywhere in the PC version of the game. From the numbers quoted, they're as abundant as cockroaches (and just as persistent). More than 70000 cheaters have already been banned by the developer Infinity Ward for cheats like aimbots, reduction of recoil to zero, shooting through walls, and more. But how do the console players know someone's cheating? Easy, through the kill cam.

Most of the time, it's possible to tell if someone is cheating by reviewing the kill cam
Cross-play allows players to play with each other in games that are available on multiple platforms. In the case of Call of Duty: Warzone, it supports cross-play between PC, PS4, or Xbox One. So, what's the big deal here? Well, a lot of PC gamers have been cheating in Warzone and console gamers have had enough. Disabling cross-play will limit the number of people in matches to those with the same version, but at least there's no need to deal with cheaters.
Unfortunately, cheaters are always going to be around and disabling cross-play isn't a solution at all. Hopefully, Infinity Ward will be able to create a more permanent solution for this.
