Canon has officially announced that in partnership with Nagasaki University in Japan, they have developed the Genelyzer Kit which can be used to detect the presence of COVID-19 in patients. But that’s not all, it seems that the entire process could take as little as 40 minutes.

With that said, the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare of Japan has granted the approval of Genelyzer Kit for government-conducted tests as well as areas with high risks such as clinical sites, airports and more. Canon hopes that the kit will be available worldwide, in order to aid with early detection so that the patient can be treated much sooner.
