Canon and National Geographic Launch EOS Young Photographer Awards in Malaysia!
Calling all young Malaysian Photographers!
Canon Singapore Pte ltd and the National Geographic Channel have recently announced the official launch of the EOS Young Photographer Award contest for Malaysia. The contest is open to aspiring young Malaysian photographers from 13 years old to 25 years old to submit their best photographs under the main theme of "A Celebration of Colour".
Opportunity to learn from the best in the US!
According to both Canon and the National Geographic Channel, the aim of the contest is to inspire Asian youths to take interest in the art and science of photography and at the same time encouraging the younger generation to discover and pursue the passion of photography. The contest offers a number of tempting prizes, including the grand prize of an all-expenses paid trip to attend a National Geographic Photography Workshop in the United States. The grand prize will also include a Canon EOS 60D DSLR camera with 18-55mm IS II lens.

The best photograph submitted will then be voted on with various prizes for runner-ups along with Voter awards as well. The 1st runner up will receive a Canon EOS 650D DSLR camera with 18-55mm is II lens while the 2nd runner up will receive a Canon EOS 1100D DSLR camera with 18-55mm IS II lens. Voter awards will also receive bi-weekly prizes based on a specific colour with a Grand Voters Choice Award at the end of the voting period. There are now just two bi-weekly themes and awards left with the Blue colour theme from 7 May 2013 to 20 May 2013 and the Orange colour theme from 21 May 2013 to 3 June 2013.
