In case you missed it, commuters can now use their debit and credit cards to pay for tokens at selected vending machines. The locations that will support these new payment methods are at the Kajang MRT line, with the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) and Bukit Bintang stations, said RapidKL.

On top of that, commuters can also use Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay to purchase tokens at the respective train stations. According to Prasarana, the new payment methods for the Kajang Line are in a "trial phase". With that in mind, the entry gates at the MRT stations do not accept cards and contactless payments.

More stations are beginning to implement the new card and contactless payment systems, as it is in line with instructions from our Transport Minister Anthony Loke. Anthony issued it way back in 2023 for public transport operators to implement open payment systems. All Klang Valley rail lines are expected to complete the transition by August 2025.
