Earlier today, telco companies such as Celcom, Maxis, U Mobile, DiGi and more have showcased their 5G solutions in Putrajaya earlier today. At the test bed, many of the telcos gave a brief introduction to the 5G technology as well as the benefits that this new network will bring such as higher bandwidth with speeds of up to or even more than 1.6Gbps, lower latency, greater stability, better reception in a crowded area and so on. The network has also been used to conduct a remote brain surgery, in which the surgeon and the patient were more than 3000km apart.
They have also showcased the various pieces of equipment used, to ensure that the 5G network is running smoothly. After a quick interview session with the spokesperson from each of the telcos, many have given me the assurance that all the equipment for the 5G network is ready to be deployed. They are currently waiting on the World Radio Conference which will be held in Egypt, between October and November of 2019 which will determine which radio spectrum telcos in Malaysia will be operating in.

We can expect the gradual roll-out of the 5G network to start anywhere from late 2019 to early 2020. That being said, we are excited to see what kind of advancements will the new 5G network bring in the future. For more updates like this, stay tuned to TechNave.com.
