AI chatbot companies are constantly looking for new ways to make use of the technology. Typically, these platforms respond when you insert a prompt, which makes them reactive. But OpenAI is aiming for a more proactive version with its new ChatGPT Pulse.
ChatGPT Pulse is now on mobile
Yesterday, OpenAI announced that ChatGPT Pulse is now available to mobile users with a Pro subscription. According to the announcement, Pulse is a "new experience where ChatGPT proactively does research". It can provide users with personalised updates using data from your chats, feedback, and selected apps (like Google Calendar).

Of course, the user can set conditions on what Pulse would 'research'. Based on the data and conditions set, Pulse will send you curated updates with (ideally) the information you need most. OpenAI acknowledges that Pulse is still in preview and won't always be accurate. However, the company is hoping for ChatGPT to transition from a reactive platform to a proactive one.
Access to free users?
If that's truly what OpenAI hopes, Pulse could become accessible to non-pro users in the future. Of course, it might not happen if Pulse becomes a solid selling point for ChatGPT's subscription model.
