ChatGPT will end the service for the GPT-4o model on 13 February 2026

Recently, OpenAI announced it will end the service for the GPT-4o LLM model. That said, what should you know about it?

 

The older model will be terminated this February 2026

For your information, that would include its variations. That consists of GPT?4.1, GPT?4.1 mini, and OpenAI o4-mini. The operation of all these public language models will be removed from the ChatGPT chatbot service on February 13, 2026.

According to OpenAI, this is also because many ChatGPT users have now switched to using LLM GPT 5.2 and only 0.1 per cent of users are still using GPT 4o . In the meantime, OpenAI also said that various improvements are being made to their latest public speaking models, and that ChatGPT will soon offer a variety of usage methods and patterns for all its users.
