Chinese technology company MirrorMe Technology has introduced Bolt, a humanoid robot with a speed of up to 10 meters per second. That said, what should you know about it?

The fastest humanoid in the world

For your information, this speed makes him the fastest humanoid in the world at the moment, and makes Bolt the first full-sized robot capable of running as fast as a professional athlete. Bolt is built with new joints and an optimised power system, allowing for more natural and stable movement at high speeds, which he describes as a "steel sparring partner" to help athletes push their true speed limits.

In a demonstration video, the institute's founder and head, Wang Hongtao, races a red metallic android on a treadmill. Video footage shows Bolt taking shorter strides than Wang but compensating for this with a faster running cadence.

Besides that, MirrorMe emphasises that their goal is not just to set records, but to create a "super-species" of robots that can match the capabilities of human athletes. The company, which was established in Shanghai in 2024, also produces other models such as Baobao, Apollo and Black Panther II.

Furthermore, China is currently actively promoting robotics sports, including organising the Humanoid Robot World Games in Beijing.
