The city of Wuhan in China hosted a virtual marathon instead of the usual annual marathon, which took place on 12 April 2020. There were more than 70000 users who joined the marathon with around 41000 finishing the race which was tracked via the Keep fitness app.
Furthermore, Keep reported than half their participant did the race while indoors while the other half presumably did the race outside.
