Chinese battery manufacturer SEVB has recently launched the Flash Charge 4.0 battery, a 12C polar charging version that can charge in just five minutes. This innovation was publicly displayed during the 17th Shenzhen International Battery Exhibition. So, what should you know about it?

Besides that, the 2nd generation battery - Xinxingchi 2.0 Kiloampere Polar Charging Version serves as the world's first supercharged battery with a charging current as high as 1400A. Combined with the vehicle's 1000V high-voltage system, this technology supports charging as fast as 1.4 megawatts.

This allows EV users to enjoy a range of more than 150 km after charging in just 1 minute and get a range of up to 450 km after charging an EV in just 5 minutes. In addition to faster EV battery charging technology, SEVB emphasises safety and energy efficiency by producing advanced cooling designs such as double-layer cooling and insulation equivalent to aerospace technology.

As a result, the system remains highly efficient in extreme temperatures, with 90% energy retention at -20°C and normal operation at -40°C. Not only that, this technology has also been extended to motorcycles with the introduction of 6C batteries that produce less heat. This was done to make the cost of EV ownership lower than owning an ICE in 3 years.
