China will be the first country to successfully return samples from the surface of the far side of the moon back to Earth. The Chang'e 6 probe landed on the surface last Saturday and began extracting samples from the lunar surface. That said, what should you know about it?
In this case, the container containing the sample has been successfully launched from the lunar surface to be met by a space ship which will then return it to Earth. If all goes well, the first samples from the far side of the moon will land in Inner Mongolia next June 25. Who knows? This could become a catalyst for other nations to do the same.
In 2019, China became the first country to successfully land a probe on the far side of the moon through the Chang'e 4 mission. The samples cited will help scientists study the origins of the moon's formation and also indirectly the formation of the earth. We have yet to confirm other details or if Malaysia will follow suit. So, it will be interesting to see what China and the government plan for the future.
