Comparing Xbox Series S size with the Xbox Series X, PS4 Pro and Nintendo Switch

Playstation 5 or the Xbox Series X? It's a debate among console gamers on which one they would get at the end of this year. But Microsoft surprised us with a new announcement on the Xbox Series S as a lesser variant and it only cost $299 (~RM1246). From a direct currency exchange, the price is almost similar to the Nintendo Switch and its size a lot smaller than we thought as well.

From Twitter, GameSpot has already received a dummy Xbox Series X and Series S units for marketing purpose. So when putting the Series S side by side with the Series X, the latter was almost three times the size of the Series S but the height was just slightly shorter. The Xbox Series S also roughly has the same size as the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, except that both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X are longer.

Obviously, the Nintendo Switch is the smallest among the consoles there and given on how compact the Xbox Series S is, this could actually give the edge to Microsoft on the console wars. In terms of tech specs, the Xbox Series S is packing an octa-core CPU custom AMD (7nm) with up to 3.6Ghz (3.4GHz with SMT), 10GB of GDDR6 RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD, up to 1440p with 4K resolution and up to 120 refresh rate.

As intriguing it may be, the Xbox series is unfortunately not supported nor official in Malaysia so that's quite a bummer. Should you get one, the console and games are very likely to be imported versions without any warranty. Purchase them at your own risk and stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
