CES 2020 is basically a Disneyland for tech lovers. From the coolest tech gadgets to the latest technology demonstrations, everything unexpected was being brought to the show and we definitely can’t hide our excitement! Today, Mercedes and Sony both revealed concept cars that sport futuristic designs and crazy features (like another level of crazy) that made our jaws drop.

Mercedes has been a regular participant of the major event. This year, the car manufacturer unveiled an electric vehicle that is based on the movie, Avatar (not the Airbender). The Mercedes-Benz AVTR has a design that will bring some memories back for those who have watched the film. It adapts the elements that we could see in Pandora and the main concept is to be as close to nature as possible. For that, the doors were designed to be clear to remove the barrier between the driver and the world outside.

What shocked us the most would be the lack of steering wheel in this car. The only way to drive it is to link yourself (yes, like what they did in the movie) to the car through biometric sensors. Later on, you’ll get to interact with the car’s system with various gestures that are claimed to be natural, as they are not hard to learn. However, it’s just a concept car after all, so don’t get your hopes high for linking with your car at the moment.

Although Sony’s biggest highlight at CES 2020 should be the PS5, the company didn’t reveal anything further than just the logo. To make amends, Sony made a surprise announcement for its electric concept sedan, Sony Vision-S. The electric car features 33 different sensors inside and outside of the car, multiple widescreen displays, 360 audio, and always-on connectivity.

The Sony Vision-S has self-driving ability enhanced by Sony’s CMOS image sensors. Those sensors are able to achieve high sensitivity, high definition, and high dynamic range to deliver accurate object recognition. Apart from that, there is also a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor in the car to detect and recognize people and objects, which helps to improve safety and comfort while inside the vehicle.

These two concept cars are definitely wilding at CES 2020. Let us know what you think about them on our Facebook page! For more tech news, stay tuned to TechNave.com.
