Could Xiaomi's new smartphone come with periscope camera setup?

On 20 December 2018, Xiaomi submitted a patent scheme of a camera system consisting of a primary camera, as well as a periscope camera lens setup. The benefit of the periscope camera lens is that it provides the phone with enhanced zoom capabilities for the camera. It is best to note that this technology isn’t new, as smartphone manufacturers such as OPPO and Huawei had already equipped with their latest smartphones with it.

Unfortunately, the patent did not specify how far the periscope lens is able to zoom in. Not only that, there was also no information in regards to the camera specs in the patent. As of now, Xiaomi has yet to give us any information on which upcoming Xiaomi smartphones will come equipped with this technology. Do take every bit of information with a grain of salt as there was no official statement by Xiaomi on the subject.
