Remember the rumour of Meta Watch that appeared last week? That first piece of news revealed that the device would feature a front-facing camera under a notch. Later, part 2 was leaked and it had some interesting speculation. Specifically, sources claim that it could be used as an input device.
According to @SteveMoser, Meta's upcoming smartwatch could be used as a key input for Electronic Monitoring Devices (EMD) and virtual reality (VR) headsets in the future. One image showed how the device could be used to send messages with the watch, while the other is a concept of using it for a virtual keyboard with a watch on each hand.
ICYMI I shared a photo of Facebook/Meta’s ‘Milan’ smartwatch with a bellybutton camera notch yesterday. And here is a glyph of it found in the same app. It could be used as a key EMD & VR input device in the future. https://t.co/hrOr4RQ9HA pic.twitter.com/BVzjXWPU8Q

Mind you, those are concept features that are probably not possible with current tech. But if it's true, then it shows that Meta is at least working in that direction. Bloomberg (via BGR) claimed that Meta plans to launch the first watch by 2022, and there would be another two generations of Meta smartwatches after that.
It should be noted that the watch could be a prototype, and its design and features could still change. Having said that, would you grab two of these just so you could 'type' on a virtual keyboard?
