Ever since its debut, vivo has always been riding on the success of manufacturing selfie smartphones. So while vivo Malaysia continues the hype of their upcoming V7+ selfie smartphone, we decided to take a closer look at the device's 24MP front camera. What can the company bring it to the table? Will it be the best selfie phone ever marketed? What kind of advantage does it have? Here's what we know so far.
To start off, this is actually the first time that a front camera is integrating a 24MP sensor. No other smartphone manufacturers have done this before and at most, the highest is only 20MP which includes its predecessors, the vivo V5 series. And no, using a digital enhancement technology to create a 24MP image doesn't really count.
Next, its flash technology continues the tradition of creating the most suitable and "just right" lighting brightness in a low-light environment just as vivo smartphones always do. But we got some information that the V7+ is able to capture better lighting even without using its selfie softlight flash. With that kind of statement, we suspect that the aperture could be around f/1.8 more or less.
Furthermore, vivo has also installed a Group Selfie feature that uses a panoramic landscape for the users. According to sources, it's able to go as wide as 145° in taking a wefie without having to squeeze in. 145°? That's also the first widest angle we heard in the smartphone industry and we can't wait to test it out how wide does it look. The resolution should look great too since it's still using the 24MP sensor.
