For those who do vlogs, you might be using a smartphone instead of a dedicated camera. In that case, a good microphone with wider compatibility could be what you need, especially if you do plan to upgrade in the future. Well, say hi to the DJI Mic.

As the name suggests, the DJI Mic is a portable microphone and it's the company's first foray into dedicated mics. It's designed to provide high-quality sound and dual-channel audio recording at distances of up to 250 metres. It'll be much better than those small clip-on mics. However, it's still quite portable with its charging case, which you can use to store the receiver and transmitters.

Now you're probably thinking, "Won't getting a digital camera be better?" As mentioned, the DJI Mic has wide device compatibility, so you can also use this with a full-frame camera if you're looking to upgrade. Additionally, you can also connect it to a laptop. The batteries for the receiver and transmitter can last up to 15 hours with the charging case, which is pretty good.

The DJI Mic will retail for USD329 (~RM1362), though local availability hasn't been announced yet. Is this a device you'd be interested in? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
