As previously reported, the DJI Osmo Mobile 4 is indeed real and it has been revealed globally. Officially coined as DJI OM 4 as a short form name, the smartphone gimbal doesn't differ much from its predecessor except that it now uses a magnetic design as speculated.
Similarly to the DJI Osmo Mobile 3, the OM 4 is also portable and foldable alongside other features for video recording. But before we get to that, we gotta talk about the magnetic quick-release design first - how this works is that you will be given a magnetic phone clamp and a magnetic ring holder for your phone so that it can be connected to the gimbal. These tools may look simple but its magnetic pull is incredibly strong and the gimbal has a rotating magnet so that you can control its movement.
For video recording, it has a few features for you which include ActiveTrack 3.0, Story Mode, DynamicZoom, CloneMe Pano, Gesture Control, Timelapse and more. So yes, the usual stuff as expected, but there are also some new ones such as SpinShot mode, 240-degrees Pano, and a 3x3 Pano mode. There's also a DJI Mimo app that lets you edit the video footages.
The OM 4 is not available in Malaysia yet but for reference, the gimbal costs $149 which is roughly around ~RM621 from direct currency conversion. Should DJI Malaysia choose to import this into the Malaysian market, we would be the first to let you know. Stay tuned for more trending gadget news at TechNave.com.
