In this day and age, most users fully rely on their mobile Internet to get their daily dose of news, information and entertainment on websites and apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, as well as Instagram. Not only that, it has to also be reliable and affordable while travelling abroad as well. In order to do so, they are expected to subscribe to a mobile prepaid or postpaid plan to access the Internet through their mobile number. We will be taking a closer look at the Digi Postpaid 58 Plan, Digi Postpaid 80 Plan and lastly the Digi Postpaid 120 Plan and why I feel that the Digi Postpaid 80 Plan offers the best value among the three plans mentioned.

A closer look at each plan

First and foremost, let’s go in-depth into each of these plans and what they offer for their price point. The Digi Postpaid 58 plan offers 5GB of data during weekdays along with 5GB of data during the weekends. Not only that, the plan also offers an additional 10GB of data exclusively for watching videos on Youtube, which brings us to a grand total of 20GB a month. This is quite plentiful seeing as how the plan only costs RM58 a month.

Digi Postpaid Plans listed

The Digi Postpaid 80 plan provides you with 10GB of data on weekdays and 10GB of data during the weekends along with 30GB of YouTube quota for RM80 a month. The Digi Postpaid 80 Plan also exclusively offers the GBoost upgrade for an additional RM10 a month which increases your total data quota to 30GB of all day usage and a huge 100GB data quota for YouTube for RM90 a month. Last on the list is the Digi Postpaid 120 plan which gives 40GB of data that is usable at any time of the week unlike the previous plans mentioned. It is best to mention that all the plans mentioned offers free unlimited calls to all networks within Malaysia.

Personally, I think the Digi Postpaid 80 plans looks quite solid thanks to the GBoost upgrade. For just an extra RM10, you get a total of 130GB worth of Internet data (all day) as mentioned and it's a nice deal for those who binge watch on YouTube a lot. That's seriously a load of data which I think I can't even finish using.

Travelling Benefits and Rewards

When it comes to travelling abroad, all the plans mentioned offers the “Roam Like Home Monthly” with up to ten neighbouring countries. Digi Postpaid subscribers will be able to activate this feature for a fee which gives 5GB of data as well as 60 minutes of talk time while abroad. However, the fee of this feature varies depending on the plan you are using. For example, if you are a Digi Postpaid 58 subscriber, you are required to pay RM35 for the “Roam Like Home Monthly”. Digi Postpaid 80 on the other hand will be charged at a lower price of RM15 while the “Roam Like Home Monthly” is completely free for Digi Postpaid 120 subscribers.

Then for the rewards, there are plenty of them to claim from brands such as Tealive, Pizza Hut, Watsons, "Box of Surprise" and many more which provides you with deals specially tailored to your usage. Not only that, you can easily pay your bills through the MyDigi App, as well as easily topping up there if there is ever an emergency situation which requires additional data. The MyDigi App is available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store

Conclusion - Which plan suits you best?

Overall, I think Digi Postpaid 80 offers a great middle ground of the two. As aforementioned, it offers the option to increase your Internet data pool with the GBoost feature which gives you up to 30GB of all day Internet usage + 100GB of YouTube, bringing the grand total to 130GB of data. On the other hand, the Digi Postpaid 58 plan offers a good amount of value for users at an affordable price but not on roaming overseas that much. Finally, the Digi Postpaid 120 is great for those who consume plenty of data and travel overseas frequently.

However, I do need to point out some cons. It would be the fact that both Digi Postpaid 58 and 80 plan have split Internet data plans between the weekday and weekend which seems kind of imbalanced. But then again, this is probably to help make it more balanced for users who rely on their mobile Internet data more during weekend so there's that.
