It's been almost two months now since Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) launched their Wanita Era Digital (DigiWED) programme, and it just keeps getting better. As of 10 March 2016, for the first time in Malaysia they have announced a mobile-based authentication solution, GSMA Mobile Connect is now available and ready to use for Mudah.my's PRO Niaga users who are Digi customers.

The GSMA Mobile Connect was first announced in Barcelona during the MWC 2016, 34 mobile network operators have launched the service in 21 countries to two billion consumers globally, this includes Digi being the first in Malaysia to do so.  How the service works is it allows customers to login, create and manage a universal digital identity; by using their mobile number as their ID link, they can use this without the need to remember passwords and usernames for websites and applications.

This creates a safe and convenient digital service security, and it includes a unique combination PIN number for extra protection. Besides that, the service can also be used for legal and payment transactions. With that, the users' personal data and digital identity are taken care of and also in total control to their hands.

Through Mobile Connect, users are not only given a secure platform for digital transactions but it also provides context and attributes about the user to increase convenience. We first introduced Mobile Connect Open Beta through Mudah.my on 17 Dec 2015. Now, Digi customers logging in for the first time will require them to link their Pro Niaga account with a Mobile Connect account, enabling them to digitally confirm their identity and their credentials and grant safe online access.”
