In conjunction with our 62nd National Day, Digi has done something unique and helpful for the visually impaired community. For the first time, the company developed a new technology called Footbraille can it was designed in mind to help them experience a football match by touching.

How does it work? Well, it's a prototype touch table device that syncs with a device wirelessly to a customized software to detect the ball's movement. From there, the software will create a touch-based response allowing the user to "feel" the game. At the moment, it's able to connect several users at one-go and Digi mentioned that they will put Footbraille to the next test of capturing a live or training football match, transmitting the game in real-time. Technically speaking, the device can be adapted for other types of sporting events.

“We constantly look for inspiration and new ways that technology can help build meaningful connections. We strongly believe that all Malaysians should be given the opportunity to benefit from the power of the internet and technology," said Joachim Rajaram, Digi’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer. "By applying technology innovatively, we are able to be inclusive to connect the visually impaired communities to what matters to them, enabling them to enjoy and pursue their passion for football in an immersive manner."
