Today, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) hosted its first Digital Day. This full-day event's purpose is set to dedicate a day of exploring existing and new digital technologies transforming the lives of many. Under the theme "Experience Tomorrow, Today", over 1700 Digizens and partners came to check out the technology showcase and seminar talks with innovators about what will the future bring.

During the event, it showcased a vast array of technologies such as financial services, Internet of Things, virtual reality, robotics, artificial intelligence, driverless cars, nanotechnology, bone-conduction technology, and other intriguing projects. What's more, there were also some eye-opening speaking sessions from the Engineer Imagineering Institute, Founder of Incitement Mohd Zikry Kholil, and Social entrepreneur Dr Rajiv Bhanot.
"We believe we are well-positioned to serve our customers and seize growth opportunities in the digital space, leveraging the strength of our core to move into new verticals such as financial services and IoT, and Telenor's global innovation network with acquisition such as New York-based ad Tech company Tapad, and licensed money services business Prabhu in Malaysia." said Albern.
In addition, the exhibition also showed Digi's 360 efforts in digitising business, workplace and people. One such example is the existing MyDigi app which is said to be the key to its customers' digital journey moving forward, Mobile Sales Agent app, a new retail concept which will rollout nationwide next year, as well as its recent investments in startups such as LocalUsher and Vase.

Another exciting new experience at Digital Day also included the Tesla Model S brought in by the Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (GreenTech Malaysia), whom Digi is partnering with to encourage an adoption of sustainable mobility. The collaboration will see Digi providing Machine to Machine (M2M) connectivity for the first batch of Teslas in the future.
