Digi's first on-ground Clash Royale tournament in Malaysia a success

Do you remember the Clash Royale: The Crown Wars that we reported a few months ago? Well, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) has concluded the Clash Royale: The Crown Wars 2016 on-ground tournament just yesterday, which is the first of its kind in Malaysia.

“We are pleased to see our customers and fans of Clash Royale from across the country coming together and enjoying themselves at our Crown Wars tournament throughout these past few months. As we strive to become our customers’ favourite partner in digital life, we aim to continue engaging Malaysian youth with fun activities and games. We will be bringing more digital propositions in the near future through our Digi Prepaid LiVE offers targeted at our younger customers,” said Chan May Ling, Digi’s Head of Marketing Services.

The champion of the tournament, Tan Chin En from Universiti Teknologi MARA who won the cash prize of RM6000 said, “The Crown Wars 2016 is the first Clash Royale tournament I’ve joined, and it feels great to be able to put a face to my opponents and compete with them on ground in a fair and controlled setting. I also enjoy being able to mingle and make friends with fellow Clash Royale fans in person, which I would not have been able to do through online tournaments.”

Taking the second and third spot are Yong Chiang Pin (Multimedia University) and Aliff Firdaus bin Shahrul Hisham (Kolej Universiti Poly-Tech MARA), who won the cash prizes of RM3000 and RM1000 respectively. The participants who were qualified in the grand finale didn't go home empty-handed as they get to walk away with Sennheiser headphones and Digi reload cards worth RM50 each.

That being said, all Digi Prepaid users can now enjoy a 10% discount on all Clash Royale in-app purchases via Digi Direct Billing on Google Play. Digi Prepaid LiVE is one of Digi's latest offers for their customers to stay connected at all times on the internet and online gaming content.

The tournament took place across 20 selected institutions from May this year, with the grand finale held at Asia Pacific University. A total of 26 participants from 18 different universities came to join the battle taking home cash prizes up to RM10000.
