Our friendly neighbourhood Telco, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, otherwise known as Digi has successfully penetrated their reach into the deep rural areas of Malaysia since their implementation of the 900Mhz spectrum network on 1 July 2017.
Armed with their new 900Mhz spectrum, Digi has successfully provided its 4G+ network to 86% of Malaysians while their LTE-A reach has increased to a whopping 45% of populated areas in the country, covering over 80 cities and towns.
Announced around a month ago, the new Digi 900Mhz spectrum network allows high speed internet to penetrate better into buildings. To further confirm this, the network expansion works within the newly launched MRT line is capable of providing consistent, high speed internet even in underground sections of tracks and stations.
