Today, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) was announced as the winner of the ‘Best Malaysian Organisation’ category for the LIFE@WORK Awards 2016, which recognises and celebrates employers who champion diversity and inclusion in their workplace. LIFE@WORK Awards was organized by Talent Corp in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.

Along with five other companies, Digi was analyzed by the organizers to acknowledge the efforts, motivation, commitment and tenacity in implementing various diversity and inclusion programmes particularly for women in the workplace.

With Digi being the first to implement a six-month fully paid maternity policy in Malaysia, this allows mothers to spend more time with their newborns; in addition, their workplace also adopts a Board Diversity Policy and an introduction of the Women Network Mentoring programme in an ongoing effort to support development, growth and retention of more women leaders within its organisation.

“It is an honour to be recognised for our commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We have always believed that the mix of talent, gender, culture, experience, thoughts and values are what make us a better, stronger, more unique Digi. We also believe that diversity and inclusion must go hand-in-hand to fully make an impact, where everyone has the equal opportunity to a seat and a voice at the table. Building an inspiring workplace will continue to be a priority for Digi, one where all Digizens are afforded the freedom to inspire the next for Digi and for themselves, to achieve their fullest potential both at work and in life,” said Haroon Bhatti, Digi’s Chief Human Resources Officer.
