The Digital Ministry announced that the 5G network coverage in Malaysia is now at 85 per cent, in line with the government’s goal to advance the country’s digital aspect. For reference, this is a 5 per cent increase compared to last month.

According to Bernama, Digital Ministry’s Secretary General Datuk Rodzi Md Saad said that the 5G network is not just meant to increase the quality of communication between smartphones, but also to advance major industries such as agriculture. These include the usage of drones to monitor the quality of crops.

Besides that, the 5G network also makes integration easier in the public transportation industry and in the health sector, the network can be used to conduct operations without a surgeon physically being there. Accordingly, the Digital Ministry through Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) will increase the quality of the 5G network in line with the nation’s digital aspirations.
