Dimensity 9400 chipset could feature Nvidia-designed GPU

When it comes to flagship chipsets, the GPU is often as important as the CPU. That's especially true for gaming smartphones, which are catered to mobile gamers. For MediaTek, mobile GPU has never been an area of expertise so the company decided to partner up with Nvidia.

According to Digitimes, industry sources claim that MediaTek could integrate an Nvidia GPU into its next-gen flagship chipset in 2024. Since the Dimensity 9300 is coming later this year, this alleged next-gen chipset will most likely be the Dimensity 9400. Moreover, this future chipset might be manufactured on TSMC's 3nm process.

Besides the Dimensity 9400 chipset, MediaTek and Nvidia are set to co-design chips for Windows on Arm (WOA) devices. This refers to Windows laptops that are powered by ARM-based chips, instead of the usual Intel and AMD CPUs. Sources claim that these devices will feature Nvidia GPUs and AI technology, and would help the two companies penetrate the notebook market.

Mind you, nothing has been confirmed and we won't know for sure till 2024. But this partnership is probably a done deal, so we can look forward to this Nvidia-powered Dimensity chipset. Maybe it could beat next year's flagship Snapdragon chipset? Share your thoughts in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
