DingTalk by Alibaba Group has come to Malaysia (the 1st country outside of China!), offering a host of enterprise-level collaboration, communication and management (Attendance, HR, Leave, etc.) online. Accessible via app (both Android and iOS are compatible) or browser, DingTalk is tied to your phone number and as far as we can see for now, is completely free for the main services (but those beyond are chargeable).
Here are some of the features:
- Supports up to 3000 users per company
- Text, image and voice chat messaging for groups (includes read/unread tracking)
- Video calls / Teleconferencing (only available with VoIP for Malaysia)
- up to 50 email accounts
- Shared media storage (a single file is limited to 700MB in size) via Ding Drive (100GB free)
- Task management and tracking
- Wirelessly project media from your device
- Automatic attendance via face recognition and wireless projection or video teleconferencing
More features can be added via third-party apps
DingTalk will also be bringing in their suite of devices which includes a wireless projector and face recognition terminal. Prices have yet to be announced but these and the pricing for requirements higher than that provided (more than 50 emails, more than 100GB cloud storage, etc.) will be announced shortly.
For now, DingTalk servers are located in Singapore but plans are underway for local data centers along with localization for languages asides from just English. Check out the DingTalk site for more details.
