Disney to ban Password Sharing feature starting this June 2024

It is common to share streaming service passwords to reduce subscription costs with family members or work colleagues. Netflix has opposed this partnership since last year and it will now be done by Disney+ starting this June.

At the initial stage, it will be introduced in a few specific countries only according to Disney CEO, Bob Iger. Then it will be expanded to more markets starting in September. Like Netflix, Disney+ allows additional profiles to users who don't sit under one roof through additional subscriptions.

In the early stages of the Disney+ launch, it is believed to be able to compete with Netflix in the streaming arena. But lately, only Netflix has managed to register a profit with a content offering that is also more diverse than other platforms.

Moreover, we have yet to confirm other matters on this subject. As of now, it wlll be interesting to see what Disney plans for the future. Hopefully, the company will produce more affordable plans.
