If there's one thing you should know about smartphone releases, most Chinese brands love releasing them every quarter or twice a year. However, Apple still refrains from doing so and will only release its latest iPhone flagships every year and Brut media managed to ask that question to Apple CEO Tim Cook on that matter.

In a 5-minute video interview, one of the highlight questions was why we really need a new iPhone every year. Tim Cook replied that he thinks it's great for those people that want it is a great thing. This is because it allows them to trade in their phones and Apple can either resell it if it's still working or disassemble it if it's not and make new iPhones out of it.

The video interview is mainly about Apple's quest for a green environment. If you have watched Apple's annual event, Tim Cook has been preaching about it for as long as they started removing the charging adapter. In his response to Brut inviting them to their data centre and photovoltaic installations, he said Apple wants to be open about the environment.

In fact, Apple wants people to look at its going green environment plans and be copied. This includes solar and wind installations around the world as well as recycling materials from a device. Tim Cook believes that it can affect people from an environmental point of view and follow them.

As a friendly reminder, Apple's long-term goal is to have all of its products carbon neutral and lowering all transportation carbon footprints as much as possible. It sounds like a wild ambition but the current Apple Watch Series 9 is at least 30% carbon neutral. There's still a long way to go but surely, we might get there.
