Just over the weekend, Former Minister of Education and a Member of Parliament for Simpang Renggam, Dr Maszlee Malik has launched a new online e-learning platform for all the Malaysian students across the nation. Called as Sophia.my, it's a new initiative to help primary and secondary students to pursue learning especially those affected by the pandemic.

From the website, Sophia.my contains over 13,000 fillings that can be utilized by the teachers. Malaysian teachers can also use it as a one-stop centre, where they can share their own materials for students to benefit. According to Dr Maszlee, he said the current students are now the "lost generation" because they had lost more than half of the 52 weeks of learning that should have been implemented in 2020.

He also added on that with the lack of proper education from the pandemic, students have lost their motivation to study and be more "vulnerable to criminal risks as well as drug abuse" (uh..there are other things to do other than those, though). In addition, he also said that although the Prime Minister at the New Year's Eve speech at a school will remain open on January 20, there is no sign that can calm and reassure all of us that this pandemic will end.

With the establishment of Sophia.my, Dr Maszlee hoped that the people can take advantage of it to explore the knowledge and syllabus left behind. But what do you think of the website? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
