Offering a device for every niche in the market, Samsung has officially anounced the dual-screen Samsung Hennessey in China, effectively ressurecting the flip-phone or clamshell phone form factor that used to be all the rage (before smartphones hit the scene). The announcement confirms tech specs for the Samsung Hennessey which include:

  • 1.2GHz quad-core processor
  • 2x 3.3-inch touch displays (320x480 resolution)
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 5MP rear camera (LED flash)
  • Supports dual-SIM + tri-band GSM + dual-band CDMA
  • 110.85 x 59.3 x 18.62mm | 208g
  • 1500 mAh battery
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

At 208g, the phone is quite heavy while the dual screens have some of the lowest resolutions for touchscreen smartphones we've seen for quite some time. The phone flips open to reveal a physical numeric keypad but doesn't seem to have any other features asides from the flip-phone form factor and dual-screen design. The dual-SIM support marks it mostly for China. No news on how much it costs or if it will ever arrive in Malaysia but we'll update you as soon as we receive information.
