Dungun named Malaysia's 2025 Smart City

Dungun Municipal Council (MPD) has received the Malaysia Smart City 2025 Award – Smart City Early Adopter (Level 1). It is a recognition of MPD's efforts in making Dungun City a smart and sustainable city. So, what should you know about it?

 

An award presented in conjunction with the National Level World Urban Planning Day 

For your information, this award was presented in conjunction with the National Level World Urban Planning Day (WUPD), the National Planning Congress (NPC) and MyCity Expo 2025 at the Putrajaya Corporation Seri Siantan Hall.

Besides that, MPD said this recognition is a major achievement that signifies the commitment and continuous efforts of MP Dungun in empowering smart city development. This move puts Dungun in line with other cities in Malaysia that are moving towards digital transformation and innovation in urban governance.

Among the Smart City initiatives that have been implemented are the establishment of the Dungun Integrated Command Centre DICC, the installation of CCTV, an electronic parking system using the D-parkS system, digital billboards, the MPD My-Fast System for online booking for community and sports facilities and many more.

Additionally, MPD also expressed its appreciation to the Terengganu State Government, PLANMalaysia, other local authorities, and the people of Dungun for their support in making the Terengganu Smart City agenda a success towards a smart, sustainable and livable city.
