Like all camera-centric smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are bound to be tested by DxOMark and in case you didn't know, DxOMark is one of the most reputable sites for its camera reviews and they just gave 99 points for the Galaxy S9 Plus. As some of you already know, Samsung has integrated a unique camera system that allows its camera to switch its aperture from f/2.4 to f/1.5 automatically depending on the environment, as well as having a 2x optical zoom.

Just to recap, the Galaxy S9 Plus features a dual 12MP main camera (1/2.55-inch sensor, f/1.5 / f/2.4 variable aperture) + 12MP secondary camera (1/3.6-inch sensor, 2x telephoto and f/2.4 aperture). Both camera sensors have Optical Image Stabilizers, but only the main camera has a Dual Pixel PDFA. DxOMark has claimed that they have taken over 1500 images so below are some of the photo samples from them.

Indoor shot, exposure is just nice without much noise and the objects have good textures, it's said the right side of the photo is supposed to be darker

Overall, DxOMark finds the Galaxy S9 Plus is very well adapted when it comes to noise control, resulting in good texture details for both outdoor and indoor shots. The phone also takes a shot quite quickly and zooming in up to 4x is commendable. However, they did mention that there are some occasional exposure issues, sometimes the sharpness get lost somewhere and the bokeh mode is not entirely perfect yet.
