When it comes to Dyson, everyone will automatically think about its vacuums. Well, the company just announced the latest Air-Purifying Headphones called the Dyson Zone. While it's not the first time that we saw a wearable purifier, Dyson took it to the next level by combining an advanced noise cancellation and purifier together.

But why? Jake Dyson, Chief Engineer of Dyson said that this is due to the air pollution globally as well as wearing a mask as a necessity nowadays. He added the Dyson Zone will help to purify the air you breathe on the move with a plume of fresh air, using a high-performing filter and two miniaturised air pumps. Believe it or not, it took six years to develop.

Not only the earcups can play some songs but as well as drawing air through the dual-layer filters and project two streams of purified air to the wearer’s nose and mouth. The purified airflow is kept near to the nose and mouth and diluted as little as possible by external crosswinds. And yes, it also has Active Noise Cancellation.

Moreover, the electrostatic filter on the headphone can capture particles such as allergens, and particles from sources such as brake dust, industry combustion and construction. The compressor channels the purified air to the wearer’s nose and mouth via the contact-free visor, formed with flexible returns that channel the flow of purified air to the wearer’s nose and mouth.

Dyson said more than 500 prototypes have been made before the final version. Intriguingly, expert test engineers in the Dyson Malaysia Development Centre were involved as well. However, there's no price mentioned so we don't know if it will be sold commercially or not. But what do you think of this device?
