If you're a big fan of Electronic Arts (EA), you may have woke up super early this morning to catch the EA Play Live. But in case you didn't, we've decided to help summarise the biggest highlights from the live-stream. Held at 6 AM earlier today, the EA Play Live had 5 major announcements.
Thanks to the folks at The Verge, we have an easy overview of what was announced. The first would be the fact that Apex Legends is heading to the Nintendo Switch and Steam in Fall 2020, with cross-play support enable. With the latter feature, you'll now be able to join other Apex Legends players on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Of course, the inclusion of Apex Legends on Steam comes as no surprise. EA has been launching many of its games on Steam lately and the second major announcement is more games being added to the platform. Along with Apex Legends, EA has also added The Sims 4, Titanfall 2, Dead Space 3, and A Way Out to Steam.
Moving on, we have the gameplay trailer for Star Wars: Squadrons. It confirmed that the game will have a single-player campaign and multiplayer. You also get a break down of the different categories of starfighters and different multiplayer game modes. The game is expected to launch on 2 October 2020 on PC and consoles, with support for VR to give you that authentic flight simulation experience.
Next is a new trailer for Rocket Arena, a brand new multiplayer hero shooter that will launch on the PC (Steam and Origin), PS4, and Xbox One. Think Overwatch, but with an extreme emphasis on shooting people with rockets. It's slated for release on 14 July 2020 and will come with 10 heroes at launch.
Finally, EA also announced that there will be a new Skate game. This is game series from EA that's about skateboarding, making it a competitor to the Tony Hawk series. However, EA only mentioned that a new Skate title will be coming but didn't share any details on it whatsoever.
And that's a wrap for now. Of course, you can check out the full live-stream for more details. But what announcement and which part of the live-stream were you most excited about? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
