During the EA Play press conference which is held within E3, Electronics Arts introduced the new Command & Conquer: Rivals that will be available on the mobile phone instead of the tradition PC platform that the series was known for.

Based on the reveal trailer, the upcoming Command & Conquer: Rivals seem to feature a gameplay similar to that of “Clash Royale” as well as “Clash of Clans” except that the player will be able to reposition player units at any moment during combat, staying true to the concept of real-time strategy. There is also a resource gathering system in which the player has to send out a Harvester to gather resources in order to build and maintain their army.

The game will feature the return of 2 rivaling factions which is the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) as well as the Brotherhood of Nod, and both the factions mentioned will feature 3 different Generals with unique abilities and playstyle to choose from.

The objective of the match is to destroy your opponent’s base, which can be achieved in one of two ways. First method of destroying their base is through taking control of the Nuclear launch pads located towards the middle of the map. Taking control of the launch pads will initiate a Nuclear Launch countdown of the Nuclear Missile which will then sent flying into your opponent’s base, keep in mind that it takes two Nuclear Missiles to destroy their base and opponents can contest the launch pads, effectively pausing the launch sequence. The second option is to directly attack their base directly, but keep in mind that if you dedicate too many units to attacking their base, there will be less units left to contest the Nuclear Missile Launch Pads.

Android users can pre-register to take part in an early access version of the Command & Conquer: Rivals on the play store right now. For more updates like these, stay tuned to TechNave.com.
