Previously, we reported on the major flaw of the Central Database Hub (PADU) recently launched by the Federal Government. Now, the Economy Ministry has allayed any concerns, saying that swift actions have been taken to address the issue and several others related to PADU.

As reported by Bernama, Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli said that the issue where an individual’s IC number can be used to override and change their passwords was resolved at 9.15pm last night. He added that weaknesses in handling this authentication were not found during the Security Posture Assessment (SPA) and that the PADU team resolved the issue in just one hour.

Rafizi also addressed the issue of bugs and vulnerabilities in the system, asserting that updating information can be done immediately after logging in without going through the eKYC process. Furthermore, eKYC is only implemented once the information has been updated and the individual wants to verify and authenticate the profile submission.

He clarified that any information filled out without undergoing eKYC certification will not be integrated into the system. The Economy Minister also announced that Rafizi said the same phone number can be used up to 5 times on PADU. This was to make it easier for household members or parents who do not have a phone to register an account.
