Electronic Arts introduces EA Advertising - Malaysian sports brands and businesses could be featured too?

Looks like commercials and ads have become very normalised these days. Recently, Electronic Arts has launched EA Advertising as an advertising platform in video games. That means we could see some local household names like Al Ikhsan in our beloved mainstream games. Here’s everything you need to know.

EA promises an unobtrusive experience for the players

For your information, EA Advertising is a platform for connecting brands directly to video games and the broader EA gaming ecosystem. The goal, according to EA, is to enable brands to appear in a natural, interactive, and unobtrusive way within the player experience. With games developed by EA being played by over 120 million players per month, brands can target ads to users with precision.

Additionally, this is done with dynamic ad space. It changes according to country, location and player taste. EA has long been selling ads in video games, such as Cingular in the NFS series and Adidas in the FIFA series. All this time it has remained and cannot change. From now on, don't be surprised if Kaki Jersi, Asadi or Al Ikhsan ads appear in EA Sports FC games.

A chance for local businesses to improve their visibility

Personally, we feel this is a good platform for local businesses in Malaysia to market themselves. Especially when there is quite a large fanbase for games like FC (formerly known as FIFA), NBA 2K series and more in Malaysia.
