Elon Musk limits tweet post reading per day temporarily

In a piece of bizarre news made by Elon Musk, he just tweeted that Twitter users will have limited post reading a day. This is due to the extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation.

Although the tweet post reading limitation is just temporary, it was a bit mind-boggling that different Twitter users will get different treatments. For starters, verified accounts are limited to 6000 posts per day, while unverified accounts get a staggering 600 posts per day. On top of that, new unverified accounts can only read 300 posts per day.

That being said, he made some updates on increasing the post-reading limitations after a few hours. At the time of this post, the rate limits have increased to 10,000, 1,000 and 500 posts per day for the respective aforementioned Twitter accounts.

In case you are wondering, the data scraping and system manipulation that Musk mentioned is because of other organisations. He said that hundreds of them were scraping Twitter data, affecting the user experience. OpenAI is one such example of this, for using Twitter's data to train its language model.
