Great news to all Xiaomi fans in Malaysia, if you or your friends and family are looking for a quality entry-level smartphone, look no further than then newest Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A for RM499 and RM349 respectively. Both devices are scheduled for 25 July 2018 release and will be available at their online store in Lazada, Shopee, as well as authorised Mi store and Mi zones.
For being entry-level smartphones, it's a bit impressive that they managed to fit in a dual camera setup. The Redmi 6 has a 12MP + 5MP, the processor is just a 12nm octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 but which is more than enough to do the basic social things, as the CPU size consumes lesser energy compared to the 28nm chipsets. AI Face Unlock is mentioned too but it will only come after an OTA update in the near future.
As for the Redmi 6A, it's actually more or less the same as the Redmi 6 except for the Helio A22 chipset and memory capacity standing at just 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage, users can add more space via a dedicated microSD slot that goes up to 256GB, and it only has a single main camera with a 13MP sensor.
