Now that we've entered 2022, one of the most anticipated things for urban Malaysians is the proliferation of 5G networks. In the last few months, Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) has been working hard on this. And now Ericsson is doing its part in a new partnership.

In a conference earlier today, Ericsson announced a new collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and DNB for an education initiative. The goal of the initiative is to educate Malaysian students on 5G and other emerging technologies, through the new platform called Ericsson Educate.

Specifically, the platform will provide UTM students with information on a variety of IT services. This includes 5G networks, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, automation, blockchain technology, cloud computing, data science, Internet of Things (IoT), and telecommunications. Content from the Ericsson Education would be provided for free as part of UTM's online degree courses.

Ericsson did not mention if the platform would also be available to the public or students from other colleges. If it is, Malaysians can get in-depth knowledge on these emerging technologies, which could prove useful for future employment. But what do you think?
