ExpressVPN, one of the most popular virtual private network (VPN) service providers in the world recently shared the most commonly used passwords around the world. Well, according to the company, apparently people in Malaysia are super romantic as the most commonly used password in our country is ‘sayang’. Aww so sweet!
Besides that, ExpressVPN also revealed that the most-used password in most places globally is ‘123456’. However, once the findings are sorted by country or language, the results become much more diverse.
For example, ‘password’ ranks high among English speakers, while for German speakers it’s still the same word but in the German spelling of ‘passwort’. As for French-speaking nations, ‘azerty’ is a popular password because that’s how French keyboards are arranged.
As for Southeast Asia, Malaysia actually share the same common password with our neighbour Indonesia. Both countries have ‘sayang’ as the most frequently used password.
Well, while it is kinda sweet for Malaysians to have ‘sayang’ as the most commonly used password, we would definitely advised you to use something more unique, long and random instead as your password. Furthermore, do enable two-factor authentication whenever possible so that your data will be safe from phishing or being easily hacked.
