Apple has already tuned its Face ID to recognize users' faces even when wearing a face mask. Now, HUAWEI finally introduces its version of support for the feature. The brand has announced recently that the HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro's face unlock will now be able to detect users' faces without removing the face mask.

Not only do you need to have the Mate 50 Pro, but the device also needs to be updated to HarmonyOS 3.0 version 3.0.0.156 or above to use the feature. To enable face mask support, it can be done by going from Settings > Biometric and Passwords > Face recognition > Setup face id (if never, skip if already) > Setup a face id record with a mask.

Besides that, the latest update also improves the camera photography experience. Changelog documents that the update "optimized the display effect of thumbnails and photos in some scenes and optimized to improve the stability of the camera."

Let's hope that face mask support will arrive on more Android devices or that COVID-19 can be completely gone already. Stay tuned to TechNave.com for the latest tech update.
