Recently Facebook Malaysia revealed a bit more about their Community Standards, which are basically their rules on what can and can’t be shared on Facebook. Designed with Safety, Voice and Equity in mind, these Community Standards were published in a more detailed version to avoid harmful content such as hate speech, bullying and extremist content from being published on Facebook in all of the local languages including Bahasa Melayu.

Available in various languages including Bahasa Melayu, they also recently expanded appeals, so you can ask for a second look if you don’t agree that your content doesn’t go against the aforementioned Community Standards. The content review team will then check it within 24 hours and if said content does not violate Community Standards it will immediately be restored. While investing in AI to detect violating content, there is a global team of 15000 people dedicated to reviewing such content.
