Facebook announced Venue to take on Twitter

Earlier today, Facebook recently unveiled a new app called Venue, which was made to take on Twitter when it comes to events as it is able to display user interactions during the event via hashtags. However, it is best to take note that the app isn’t focused on fan commentary which is quite different compared to Twitter.

Instead, the event can specify who (journalists, fan-analysts, athletes and more) is allowed to give their input which can help control the flow of the conversation. Not only that, but those specific individuals can also open up a chat where the fans are able to interact with them.

With all that said, the Venue app will make its debut during NASCAR’s Food City presents the Supermarket Heroes 500 race in the US. Unfortunately, there is no official information on whether this app will be available in Malaysia.
